Men's Golf Team Opens 2007-08 Season At Saint Mary's Invitational on September 10-11

The University of Houston men's golf team opens its 2007-08 season when the Cougars travel to Pebble Beach, Calif. and competes in the Saint Mary's Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 10-11 on the Poppy Hills Golf Course.

The tournament features a field of 95 players from 18 schools and eight conferences. The conferences include teams from Conference USA (Houston, Memphis and UAB), Big 12 (Baylor, Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska), Big 10 (Wisconsin), West Coast (the host school, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, Santa Clara and Loyola Marymount), WAC (Nevada and San Jose State) and the Big West (Long Beach State).

The teams will play on a par-72, 6,833-yard course and the 54-hole tournament is played over two days. The first day will consist of 36 holes and the final 18 holes are played on Tuesday.
