Former Wide Receiver Brandon Middleton to Play in NFL Europa's World Bowl this Weekend
June 18, 2007 After an award-winning regular season, former University of Houston wide receiver Brandon Middleton will compete in Yello Strom World Bowl XV against the Hamburg Sea Devils on Saturday. Middleton, who competes as a member of NFL Europa's Frankfurt Galaxy, finished the regular season ranked second in receptions (45), third in receiving yards (540) and sixth in receiving touchdowns (3). The Elsik High School product also led the league in punt return yardage (211 yards on 19 returns) and finished third in combined net yards gained with 1,003. Middleton was honored as Special Teams Player of the Week in week 6 after returning four punts for 88 yards, including the Galaxy's opening score on a 71-yard return for a touchdown. Middleton lettered at UH in 1999 and from 2001-03. During his collegiate career, he compiled 137 catches for 2,873 yards and 24 touchdowns. The Houston native ended his career having caught at least one pass in 40 consecutive games, including an amazing 39 catches of at least 30 yards.
