HOUSTON (AP) - Richard Jones scored 14 points and Morris Finley had 13 to lead Alabama-Birmingham to a 63-50 win over Houston on Saturday night.

Demario Eddins added 10 points, and Sidney Ball had eight points and nine rebounds for the Blazers (10-3, 2-0 Conference USA).

Louis Truscott led Houston with 14 points and 18 rebounds, just two short of his career high. Andre Owens added 12 points for the Cougars (2-10, 0-1).

Houston outrebounded the Blazers 46-31, including 14 rebounds by Jeremee McGuire.

But the Cougars were plagued by poor shooting - less than 33 percent for the game. They were 6-of-25 from the 3-point line.

Alabama-Birmingham shot just over 42 percent from the field.
