Crusaders Run At Murray Keating Invitational

Orono, Maine - The Holy Cross men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 13th annual Murray Keatinge Cross Country Invitational, placing 10th with 280 points and 8th with 277 points, respectively, on Saturday.

Finishing first for the women was senior Erin Moseley (Carlisle, Mass.), who finished 47 th with a time of 18:54.50.

Senior Jon Nieskens (Peterborough, N.H.) was Holy Cross' top finisher for the men's team, finishing 52 nd with a time of 26:19.50.

Other notable finishers for the Crusaders' women's team was senior Elizabeth Desmond (Portland, Maine), who finished 53 rd with a time of 19:01.40 and senior captain Kathryn Thornton (Burbank, Calif.), who finished with a time of 19:05.80 in the 56 spot.

Finishing at No. 65 and 67 was senior James Clifford (Haworth, N.J.) and sophomore Stephen Kress (Portland, Maine) with times of 26:47.90 and 26:51.40, respectively.

Brown's Patrick Tarpy won the men's race finishing with a time of 24:19.50. Southern Methodist representative Karin Van Booyen won the women's race with a time of 17:02.90.

Dartmouth won the meet with 35 points, followed by Brown (48) and Iowa (61) for the men's side. Southern Methodist was victorious for the women's competition, finishing with 35 points. Local Boston College was second with 72 points, followed by Dartmouth with 74, good enough for third.

The Crusaders next compete at the New England Championship on Friday, Oct. 8.
