Holy Cross Women's Tennis Wins 4-3 Over Hartford

Sept. 14, 2005

West Hartford, Conn. - In a close match, the Holy Cross women's tennis team downed Hartford to earn their first victory of the season. The Crusader women split the singles matches and won two of three in doubles to get the win. Holy Cross moves to 1-0 as Hartford is now 0-1.

Kerry Trimmer (Spring Lake, N.J.) got the win in the one spot 6-3, 6-0, while Carrie Simmons (Raynham, Mass.) and Katie Guarino (Reading, Mass.) took their matches at second and sixth singles spots, respectively.

In doubles, the Crusader women took two matches. Trimmer and Simmons paired up to beat the Hawks at first doubles as Margaret Moran (Concord, N.H.) and Meredith Bacon (Hanover, N.H.) won the third doubles match.
