Softball Drops First Two at Rebel Spring Games

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Holy Cross softball team fell to Monmouth 7-1 in their first Rebel Spring Game on Tuesday and dropped the second game to Maine 16-3. The Crusaders are 0-5 after falling to Jacksonville (4-3), Central Florida (9-0), and Villanova (8-1) at the Knight Games in Altamonte Springs, Fla. over the weekend.

Freshman Amanda Audette (New Bedford, Mass.) hit a two-run homer, the first of her collegiate career, while junior Caitlin Deitz (Delmar, N.Y.) and sophomore Natalie Cruz (Manalapan, N.J.) each had two hits in the 4-3 loss to Jacksonville Saturday. Freshman Mandy Correale (Peabody, Mass.), Cruz, and Deitz each had a hit in the game vs. Villanova.

The Crusaders will face St. Peter's and Penn Wednesday. Holy Cross will play four more games at the Spring Rebel Games with two on Thursday and two on Friday.
