Washington, D.C.- The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to American University, 2-0, in Patriot League action, on Friday afternoon in Washington, D.C. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 2-10 (0-2 PL) on the season, while the Eagles improve to 5-7 (2-0 PL).

American got on the board at the 25:51 mark when Annette Scott scored an unassisted goal. The Eagles put the game out of reach in the second half when Lindsey Miller scored at the 70:38 mark with an assist given to Tatiana Bertolo. The Eagles out shot the Crusaders, 22-9.

Holy Cross sophomore goalie Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass.) made 12 saves, while American goalie Alison Doyle stopped four shots for the win.

The Crusaders return to action when they travel to Annapolis, Md., to take on Navy in Patriot League action on Sunday, October 9, at 11:00 a.m.
