Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team saw their five-game win streak come to a halt on Saturday, losing 6-1 to St. Anselm in Worcester, Mass. Holy Cross drops to 12-4-1 overall and 9-4-0 in the ECAC East. St. Anslem remains at the top of the ECAC East standings, improving their overall record to 17-1-0 and their conference record to 13-1-0. Junior Casey Harvell (Lexington, Mass.) got the only Crusader goal of the day, scoring on a power play in the middle of the third period.

St. Anselm got on the board at 12:03 into the contest off of a power play goal from Arianna Rigano. Kendal Junta would give the Hawks a 2-0 lead 1:27 later. St. Anselm would add two more goals in the second period; One from Kathleen Twomay and one from Kelsey Johnson.

Junta would strike again for the Hawks, scoring a short handed goal 7:35 into the third stanza, bringing the game to a 5-0 St. Anselm lead. Harvell would make the score 5-1 at 8:04 into the period, with assists from junior Parny Ormiston (Duxbury, Mass.) and freshman Kathryn Kelley (Dedham, Mass.). The Hawks would score last, getting an unassisted power play goal from Rigano.

Senior net minder Casey McCullion (Philadelphia, Pa.) stopped 29 shots for Holy Cross as Jen Taylor made 16 saves for St. Anselm.

The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team travels to Newport, R.I. to take on ECAC East opponent Salve Regina at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 3.
