Holy Cross Finishes Eighth At Big South Championship

McCALLA, Ala. - The Holy Cross women's golf team finished in eighth place out of eight teams at the Big South Conference Championship held at Bent Brook Golf Course in McCalla, Ala. Sophomore Amy Lussier (Milton, Mass.) led the Crusaders as she had a third round of 82. She finished in 32nd place with a three-day score of 256. The Crusaders finished the day with a total of 335 and a three-day score of 1065, topping their previous best round of 363 and having the biggest improvement of any team in the field. Birmingham Southern won the event with a three-day total of 889.

Junior Cynthia Sanossian (Scarsdale, N.Y.) had a single-round of 82 and placed 33rd with a three-day total of 267. Senior captain Meghan Costello (Copley, Ohio) shot a round of 88 and sophomore Ellen Lamson (South Royalton, Vt.) had an 83, as they tied for 34th with a three-day total of 271. Sophomore Chelsea DuHaime (Concord, N.H.) placed 39th.

The Crusaders will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 22-23, when they will compete at the Jack Leaman Ladies Intercollegiate. On Saturday, the competition is in Amherst, Mass., while on Sunday it is in South Hadley, Mass. The tournament starts at noon on both days.
