Holy Cross Places Five On Academic All-League Team

June 29, 2007

WORCESTER, Mass. - Five members of the Holy Cross women's basketball team have been selected to the 2006-2007 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office. Leading the Crusaders was senior guard Brittany Keil (Sparta, N.J.), who had the ninth-highest grade point average in the conference with a 3.78 during the spring semester. A total of 45 student-athletes from women's basketball teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll.

Joining Keil on the Academic Honor Roll were senior center Kaitlin Foley (Albany, N.Y.), junior forward Ashley McLaughlin (Andover, Mass.), sophomore forward Kathy Gruzynski (Elk Grove, Ill.) and freshman forward Tayana Carper (Shrewsbury, Mass.).

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.20 or better during the spring semester, and be a starter or key reserve on her team.

Holy Cross finished the 2006-2007 campaign with a 15-18 overall mark, won the Patriot League Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
