BRONX, N.Y. -- The Holy Cross men's and women's cross country teams both had strong showings at the 2007 Fordham Invitational, with the women finishing in fifth place with 192 points and the men coming in sixth with 210 points. Sophomore Tim Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) led the men's team by finishing in 27th place with a time of 27:26, while freshman Rose Calvo (Rocky Hill, Conn.) had a 36th place finish in a time of 20:13 to lead the women. Pennsylvania claimed the men's title with 42 total points, while Princeton took the women's crown with 20 points.

For the Holy Cross women, Calvo was followed by junior Colleen Spilka (Hamden, Conn.) in 42nd place (20:31), junior Elizabeth Alizzi (Syosset, N.Y.) in 43rd place (20:35) and freshman Suzanne Wallace (Shoreham, N.Y.) in 49th place (20:41). On the men's side, Richard was followed by sophomore Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.) in 38th place (27:47), junior Brad Mish (Hadley, Mass.) in 54th place (28:21) and junior Kevin Lucid (New Providence, N.J.) in 66th place (28:47).

The Crusaders will return to action next Friday, September 14, when they travel to Notre Dame, Ind., to take part in the National Catholic Championship. Other members of the team will participate in the Fitchburg Invitational on Friday, September 14.
