WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore Nathaniel Couture (Taunton, Mass.) was named Patriot League Male Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office. The award is the first for a Crusader track and field athlete this season.

In Holy Cross' home meet on Tuesday, April 25 Couture broke a 62-year old school record in the javelin throw with a toss of 206'11". The old record of 197'9.25" was originally set by Dave Murray in 1944.

With the performance, Couture won his fifth individual javelin competition of 2006 and qualified for the NCAA East Regionals beginning May 25.
