WORCESTER, Mass. - Four Crusader athletes are among a group of graduating Holy Cross seniors who been selected as winners of Academic Awards for the 2006-2007 school year. Seniors Jared Bennici (Marlborough, Conn.) of the men's rowing team, Matthew Drago (Western Springs, Ill.) of the men's rowing team, Brittany Keil (Sparta, N.J.) of the women's basketball team and John Ortolani (Williamsville, N.Y.) of the men's cross country and track teams are the athletes who have been honored. These individuals received their awards in a special presentation held in the Dinard Library on Thursday, May 24.

The following are the awards which were received by Holy Cross athletes.

The Edward V. Killeen, Jr., Prize
(awarded for general excellence in chemistry throughout the premedical course)
John Ortolani

The John C. Lawlor Medal
(awarded to the outstanding student and athlete throughout the college course)
Brittany Keil

The Vannicelli Washington Semester Program Award
(given for the best thesis in the Washington Semester Program)
Jared Bennici

The Varsity Club Norton Prize
(given to an outstanding student athlete)
Matthew Drago
