Georgetown Women’s Golf Team Earns Sixth-Place Finish at Princeton Invitational

Princeton, N.J. – The Georgetown University women’s golf team earned a sixth-place finish at the 16-team Princeton Invitational, held Saturday-Sunday, September 27-28, at the Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, N.J.  Sophomore Nicole Hayashi (West Lake Village, Calif.) was the Hoyas’ top finisher with a 17th-place performance. 

Princeton won the tournament with a composite 622 (300, 322), while Yale took runner-up honors with a 645 (321, 324). 

Hayashi shot a 162 to tie for 17th place after recording scores of 80 and 82 over two days of competition.  Sophomore Christy Larrimore (Severna Park, Md.) was one stroke back from Hayashi, tying for 21st place with a two-day total of 163 (81, 82).  Freshmen Maggie Ward (Rochester, N.Y.) and Rosalina Ascolani (Bonita, Calif.) tied for 25th place with a score of 164.  Both golfers carded an 81 on day one and an 83 on the second day of competition.  Junior Connie Isler (Annapolis, Md.) registered a 166 (83, 83).

Princeton’s Sharla Cloutier won the tournament with a seven over par two-day total of 151 (74, 77).  The Tigers’ Avery Kiser claimed second place with a 152 (81, 82).
