The Skinny
Georgetown is quietly building another successful season during the 2002-03 campaign. The team’s 13 wins already eclipses last season’s 12 victories with seven regular season games remaining on the schedule.

Virginia Tech is noisily having another excellent season under head coach Bonnie Henrickson. Since taking the helm in 1997, Henrickson’s teams have posted 20 wins in each of the last five seasons. Currently tied for third in the BIG EAST, Virginia Tech is on a three game win streak, taking six of the last seven.

These teams have little history, facing each other only three times since 1979. Rebekkah Brunson and Nok Duany have eached played one game against the Hokies in their careers. Brunson hit for 20 points and 10 boards her freshman year while Duany scored 18 and ripped 11 rebounds last season. For Virginia Tech, Ieva Kublina has averaged 16 points and seven and a half rebounds in two contests while, as a freshman, Erin Gibson knocked down 18 points against the Hoyas in last year’s meeting, grabbing 14 boards for the Hokies.
