Cravedi Makes Qualifier of the T. Rowe Price Clay Court Championships

This past weekend two Georgetown men tennis players competed in the prequalifying singles draw at the T. Rowe Price National Intercollegiate Clay Court Championships held in Pikesville, Md. Senior Nick Sklavounos (Waterford, Conn./Waterford) and freshman Dennis Cravedi (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) represented the Hoyas in the competition.

Cravedi battled his way into the third round of the pre-qualifier with victories over Loyola's (Md.) Brian Johnson (7-6, 6-3) and David Blackburn of Mississippi (6-2, 6-3). In the third round he stayed with Zoltan Csandi of Old Dominion but was unable to score the victory as he dropped the match 7-5, 6-3. Sklavounos lost in the first round, 6-4, 6-1, against Michale Yani of Duke University.

Cravedi received a berth into the qualifying round of the Championship. His first match in the qualifier will take place Tuesday September 19th at 10 a.m. against Tom Dalby, the #2 singles player last year for UAB.
