Men's Tennis Defeats Howard, 6-1

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown men's tennis team defeated cross-town foe Howard, 6-1, today at the McDonough Tennis Complex. The Hoyas improve to 5-9 this season, 2-2 in BIG EAST play.
Sophomore Theodore Tywang (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy) pulled double duty with a 9-8(3) win in doubles with sophomore partner Etienne Paris (Miami, Fla./Ransom Everglades) and a 7-5, 6-2 win at the second singles position. Freshman Kenneth Wong (Repulse Bay, Hong Kong/St. Paul's [N.H.]) won his doubles match with sophomore partner Andrew Clayton (Salt Lake City, Utah/Rowland Hall - St. Mark's) and won a 6-0, 6-1 decision at sixth singles.
The Hoyas won the doubles point to lead 1-0 going into singles play. A win from Tywang increased the lead to two. Senior Eric Conrad (Gloucester, Mass./St. John's Prep) won the third point for the Hoyas with a three-set victory at the third singles position and junior Kevin Killeavy (Indian Harbor Beach, Fla./Melbournce Central Catholic) clinched the match with a decisive win at four.
The Hoyas continue the season when they host Marquette on Friday, April 7 at the McDonough Tennis Complex at 3 p.m.
