WASHINGTON, D.C. – Georgetown freshman men’s soccer player Jeff Curtin (Oreland, Pa./Germantown Academy) was honored with his first BIG EAST Rookie of the Week award for the week ending October 27, 2002.

Curtin hit two goals against the #11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish this past Saturday, including the game winner with under one minute to play. Curtin scored his first goal early in the second half to give GU a 2-1 lead. After ND tied the game a hand ball with under 30 seconds to play allowed Curtin to bury the penalty kick to give Georgetown the victory. His defensive efforts also helped the Hoyas hold the powerful ND offense to only two scores.

The Hoyas suit up this Wednesday in Philadelphia, Pa. against the University of Pennsylvania at 2:30 p.m.
