Men's Soccer Loses 5-1 at UConn
10/6/2002 STORRS, CT (October 6) – A natural hat trick by UConn's Cesar Cuellar lifted the University of Connecticut men’s soccer team past Georgetown University, 5-1, before a crowd of 5,011 at Morrone Stadium on Saturday night. Georgetown dropped its overall record to 4-6-0, 2-3-0 in the BIG EAST. Connecticut’s fourth goal was notched by Marcus Svensson. Cuellar was taken down just outside the UConn offensive box at the 66:09 mark of the game. Svensson wrapped the ball around the five-man wall to the left side of the net, out of the reach of the screened Hoya goalie, Tim Hogan (Richmond, Va./ Freeman). The Huskies capped off the scoring on Damani Ralph’s goal at the 71:35 mark. Georgetown heads home for a contest against the University of Maryland, this Wednesday at 3 p.m. on North Kehoe Field. |
