WASHINGTON, D.C. - Mike Henehan (Canandaigua, N.Y./Canandaigua Academy) and Doug Staab (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) each had four goals as Georgetown defeated Hobart, 17-5. It was the 16th-straight home win for the Hoyas. Henehan also had two assists as the Hoyas improved to 9-1 on the season. Hobart fell to 4-3.

The Statesmen opened the scoring in the game's second minute when Jason Ouellet scored on a feed from Joe Leska. Hobart held the lead until the 6:11 mark when Henehan's extra-man goal tied the game. Freshman Neal Goldman (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) put GU in the lead with 22 seconds later. Henehan scored again at 4:06, but Hobart's Jamie Breslin cut the lead to 3-2 on an extra-man goal with 2:03 in the period. That was all the scoring in the first fram.

The Hoyas controlled the second quarter. Scott Doyle (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) started a 4-0 GU run with an unassisted goal at 7:34. Steve Dusseau (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington), Trevor Walker (Haverford, Pa./Episcopal Academy) and Staab completed the scoring in the frame as GU took a 7-2 lead at the half.

GU continued to control the game in the second half. The Hoyas outscored the Statesmen 4-2 in the third period and 6-1 in the fourth to make the final score 17-5. Nine different players had at least a goal for GU. Doyle finished with four points, while Tom Tamberrino (Lutherville, Md./Calvert Hall) and Walker each had three points.
