Georgetown Golf Opens the Season Tied For 13th at the Navy Fall Invitational
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Georgetown University golf team opened the season at the Navy Fall Invitational and finished tied for 13th overall. Nick Cook (Shelton, Conn./Fairfield Prep) was the low scorer for the Hoyas. The freshman finished in a tie for 22nd overall with a 147 for the two-day tournament. The University of Richmond won the tournament by three strokes over Rutgers University. The Spiders shot 577 for the tournament.
As a team, Georgetown finished the first day tied for ninth with a 301. The Hoyas shot 304 on Sunday and ended the tournament at 605. Junior Cody Courbier (Coconut Grove, Fla./Ransom Everglades) carded a 75 in each of his two rounds and finished in a tie for 42nd place. Senior Dan Giraudo (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius) was one shot behind Courbier with a 151. Juniors Tristan Lewis (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) and Andreas Huber (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) fired a 160 and 161, respectively. The Hoyas will play on Sunday at the James Madison Invitational.
