Georgetown Men's Golf Ties for Second at Big Five Invitational

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University men's golf team placed three individuals among the top-20 finishers en route to a tie for second place at the Big Five Invitational, held at the par-71, 6,834-yard Philadelphia Cricket Club in Pennsylvania. The Hoyas posted a two-round score of 36-over par 604 to tie for second with host Penn, 13 strokes off the pace of winner Columbia, who toped the 15-team field with a 23-over par 591. Richmond finished in fourth place (39-over par 607), while Penn State and William & Mary tied for fifth place at 41-over par 609. Columbia's Chris Condello and Chris Arkin posted scores of four-over par 146 to take medalist honors in the field of 75. Sophomore Tim Hager (Ivyland, Pa.) carded an eight-over par 150 and tied for seventh place to lead Georgetown. Hager shot a five-over par 76 in the first round on Saturday, but came back with a three-over par 74 in Sunday's final round. Junior Tim Moynihan (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) finished with a nine-over par 151 and tied for 10th place, while senior Matt Busa (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) posted a 10-over par 152 and tied for 17th place. Patrick Sherry (Brookeville, Md.) tied for 27th place at 12-over par 154 and freshman Trevor Matese (Bethesda, Md./Georgetown Prep) tied for 58th place at 20-over par 162.
