Georgetown Crew Spring Opener Cancelled due to Inclement Weather

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown crew's season-opening event, the Jesuit Invitational in Camden, N.J., has been postponed due to the inclement weather in the Northeast.

All four crews were to participate in this event that marks the beginning of the spring crew season. Next Saturday, March 24, the women's heavyweight crew will compete against George Mason and North Carolina here in Washington, D.C. The GU Class of 2006 Cup will be awarded to the winner.

The men's lightweight crew will next compete in the Fosburgh Cup against Columbia and Princeton in Princeton, N.J. on March 31. The women's lightweight crew will compete against Radcliffe here on the Potomac on March 31, as both teams will compete for the GU Class of 2004 Cup.

Finally, the men's heavyweight crew season will begin on April 6-7 when the Hoyas compete in the George Washington Invitational.
