Natalie Ewing earned her second cross country All-American honor with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Championships.

2003 NCAA Championship Results

The Grand Valley State women's cross country team captured its second straight third place finish at the NCAA DII National Championshis. GVSU tallied a team score of 143. Adams State captured the title with a score of 38, followed by Western State (101).

Ewing finished in a time of 21:45, while Kara Egan followed in 14th place with a time of 22:20. Krista O'Dell was 27th (22:48), Jeannette Seckinger 42nd (23:12) and Megan Doerr 54th (23:20). Adrian Chouinard was 56th (23:22) and Stephanie Silwinski 102nd (24:12).

Head coach Jerry Baltes has led the Lakers to three straight NCAA Championships, including back-to-back third place finishes.

"I'm extremely proud of the way our kids competed," said Baltes. "We ran hard showed a lot of heart with our finish."
