Grand Valley State had three players named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Great Lakes All-Region Team for their outstanding performances this season. Senior middle blocker Tracy Kirk, junior middle blocker Meghan Moore, and sophomore libero Alyson Riley all earned all-region honors.
Kirk is leading the team, averaging 4.00 kills, 1.09 blocks, 0.57 digs, and 0.31 assists per game, while hitting .386 on the season. Her .386 hitting percentage ranks first on GVSU's all-time single-season list. Kirk was named to the Daktronics All-Great Lakes First Team, Great Lakes Region All-Tournament Team, GLIAC Tournament MVP, and the All-GLIAC First Team. She was also named GLIAC Player of the Week three times this season. Tracy earned AVCA Great Lakes Region and AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors last season.
Moore ranks first on the team, posting 1.46 blocks per game. She has tallied 32 solo and 127 assisted blocks on the year. Moore is also averaging 2.84 kills, 0.50 digs, and 0.18 service aces per game, while hitting .310. Moore was named to the Great Lakes Region All-Tournament, GLIAC All-Tournament, and All-GLIAC First Teams.
Riley leds the Lakers with 5.47 digs per game, while adding 0.31 assists and 0.28 aces. In just two seasons, she has tallied 1,102 digs, which ranks fifth on Grand Valley State's career leaders list. Riley has posted 20 or more digs 16 times this season, including a career-high 38 in a 3-2 win against Florida Gulf Coast. Riley was named the GLIAC Libero of the Year and earned All-GLIAC Second Team honors.
The Lakers are 29-6 overall and will head to the Elite Eight next week. GVSU will play Dowling on Thursday, Dec. 1 at noon.
