Grand Valley State's women's track and field team had six athletes set NCAA Qualifying marks and three school records broken at the Gina Relays hosted by Hillsdale College. The Lakers will host the GLIAC Championships on Thursday, May 5 and Friday, May 6 at Lubbers Stadium.

Pam Treppa broke the school record in the long jump with a mark of 19'-04.25". The previous record was held by Icis Charles in 2001 with a mark of 19'-0.25". Morgan Acre broke the record in the discus with a throw of 156'01". The old record of 150'01" was set in 2000 by Jenna Shook. The women's 4x800 team consisting of Mandi Zemba, Brandi Murell, Susie Rivard, and Krista O'Dell broke the school record that was set in 2004.

Both Karlie Singleton (17:05.84) and Adrian Chouinard (17:26.95) recorded NCAA Qualifying times in the 5,000 meter run. Lauren Bader ran a 4:35.71 in the 1500 meter and Lindsey Jones recorded a mark of 11'-6.25" in the pole vault, both of which were qualifing marks.

"This was a great meet for our ladies because we accomplished some exciting marks all around," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "This should give us the confidence going into the GLIAC Championships so we can compete to the best of our ability against the rest of the conference."

"This will be a great challenge for our ladies as Ashland has an awesome team," added Baltes. "We will need to be very focused and ready to meet their challenge."
