Grand Valley State dropped its first match of the season, falling 9-0 to Northwood on Tuesday. GVSU is now 4-1 overall and 4-1 in the GLIAC. The Lakers will continue its four-match road trip at Mercyhurst on Friday, Sept. 30, Ashland on Saturday, Oct. 1, and Tiffin also on Oct. 1.

Northwood swept all three doubles and six singles matches without dropping a set. The Timberwolves improved to 5-0 and remain the only undefeated team in the GLIAC.
