Allendale, Mich. - #6 Grand Valley State extended its school record winning streak to 29 straight games with two wins at the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge on Saturday in Battle Creek, Mich. The Lakers held off Northern Kentucky 3-2 in game one and defeated Bellarmine 4-3 in the nightcap. Jennifer Mackson (16-0) and Kristin Jenner (10-0) earned the wins and stay perfect on the season. Jennifer Goldschmeding tallied four hits on the day to lead the Laker offense. GVSU is 30-1 on the year and ranked #6 in the NFCA Top 25.

GVSU scored single runs in each of the first three innings and held off Northern Kentucky to earn the win. Mackson pitched a complete game and struck out 8 against the Norse.Tara Marsh tallied three hits and an RBI, while Goldschmeing posted two hits with an RBI. Rachel Blain posted the third run with a double.

Jenner earned the victory in the second game after throwing 5.2 innings, and Mackson picked up her sixth save of the year. Mackson's six saves leads all of NCAA DII. Sara Vroegindewey was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with 3 RBI, and Goldschmeding recorded another two hit game.

The Lakers will play the top team in the GLVC, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville (27-6) on Sunday at 11:00 am. GVSU will finish the tournament with games against Missouri-St. Louis at 1 pm and Lewis at 5 pm.
