Grand Valley State dropped a 9-0 decision to #24 Barry on Saturday. Earlier in the day, the Lakers defeated regional foe West Liberty State, 8-2, and then also fell to Florida Gulf Coast, 9-6. GVSU will conclude its spring trip on Sunday, March 11. The Lakers will play Mars Hill at 9:00 a.m. and Nova Southeastern at 1:00 p.m.

Barry jumped out to an early lead, posting four runs in the first four innings of play. They added one more in the sixth inning and four in the seventh to take the 9-0 win.

Freshman Lauren Rohan (1-1) suffered the loss, allowing 10 hits and four runs in 3.1 innings of play. Freshman Lindsey Pierzynski finished the final 3.2 innings and gave up eight hits and five runs. Each pitcher tallied two strikeouts apiece. GVSU recorded just three hits in the loss.
