Grand Valley State's men's and women's track and field teams will be competing at Saginaw Valley Friday and Saturday in the GLIAC Championships. Both the men's and women's teams have won five consecutive GLIAC titles.

The Laker men have 11 different athletes in eight different events, while the women have 16 different athletes in 13 different events on the NCAA Qualifying list.

Both the men's and women's teams are ranked #1 in the NCAA Division II Track & Field Team Power Rankings.

"We are excited for the opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the nation this weekend," said head coach Jerry Baltes. "We know it will be a battle on both sides and we will have to have our best performances in order to have a chance at winning again."

"We have an opportunity to improve on our season bests to qualify a few more athletes for the NCAA Championship in two weeks out in Boston," added Baltes.
