The GVSU men's tennis team dropped a close, 5-4, decision to Albion College on Saturday, Feb. 10. The loss drops the Lakers to 1-1 on the season. GVSU defeated Tiffin college in a dual match in the fall. GVSU will travel to Indiana for a non-conference matchup against Indianapolis on Friday, Feb. 16 at 6:00 pm.

The Lakers were victorious in their top three singles matches. Adam Sandusky triumphed over Andrew Lulek, 6-4, 7-5 in the #1 singles slot. In #2 singles, Tony Dang beat Brandon Still by a 6-4, 6-2 count. Rounding out the singles victories was Patrick Troy, who recorded a 7-5, 6-0 win. Brock Plangger, Matt Globerson and Alex Switzer all tested their opponents to the limit, but each fell in three sets.

GVSU was only able to record one win in doubles action as Tony Dang and Adam Sandusky were victorious 9-8 (9-7). The team of Brock Plangger and Justin Sauerbrey fell 8-5 in #2 doubles while Matt Globerson and Alex Switzer dropped a 9-8 decision in #3 doubles.
