Allendale, Mich. - Junior forward Jeff Grauzer hit two free throws with 4.7 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 59-59 and the Lakers then outscored the Chargers 12-4 in overtime to claim a 71-63 GLIAC victory. GVSU improves to 11-4 overall and 5-2 in GLIAC action.

GVSU jumped out to a 15-4 lead just five minutes into the game, but Hillsdale went on a 23-5 run to take a 27-20 lead. Brian Arnold, who scored a career-high 12 points in the first half, hit a bucket with two seconds left in the first half to pull the Lakers within five at the half (31-26). Courtney James gave Grand Valley State a 34-33 lead with a three-pointer at the 17:16 mark of the second half, but Hillsdale built another six point lead (51-45) with 9:47 left. Grauzer pulled GVSU to within two (54-52) with a layup and Jamerson tied the game four the fourth time with a jumper at the 3:05 mark. Hillsdale built a 58-55 lead on a pair of free throws by Drew Powell. Courtney James scored a quick layup to pull GVSU within one (58-57), but Charger center Cory Coe was able to make just one of two foul shots with eight seconds left to set up the final play. Grauzer was just 1-for-4 from the line on the night until the final seconds.

Back to back jumpers by Jamerson put GVSU up 67-63 and Grauzer scored a layup to give the Lakers a 69-63 lead. James added a pair of free throws for the final margin. GVSU shot 50.9 percent for the game and outrebounded Hillsdale 37-27.

Jamerson scored a team-high 15 points, all in the second half, while Marcus Wallace chipped in 13 points. Brian Arnold scored a career-high 12 points, all in the first half. Callistus Eziukwu scored eight points and pulled down 15 rebounds, while Courtney James chipped in 11 points and dished out eight assists.
