Women's Tennis Falls To Idaho State 6-1

BOISE, Idaho - The Gonzaga University women's Tennis team dropped the final match of Boise State Invitational as the Idaho State University Bengals downed the Bulldogs 5-2 Sunday afternoon. Jamie Buterbaugh earned the only singles point for the Bulldogs as defeated Melanie Kranz 6-4,6-3 at the No. 2 spot. Gonzaga earned the second point of the day when the doubles duo of Sirrah Williams and Katie Rock defeated Kranz and Kristina Arutjunova 8-4 in No. 2 play. Aaryn Volkmann and Connie Head defeated Carol Tolsma and Armine Sarkavagyan 8-6 to secure the doubles point in the No. 3 position. Gonzaga returns to action Friday and Saturday for the Eastern Washington Invitational in Cheney, Wash. The Bulldogs open play Friday against the University of Montana at 12:30 p.m.
