SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego exploded for three second half goals and went on to defeat Gonzaga University 4-0 Sunday in a West Coast Conference men's soccer match.

Four different USD players scored as Gonzaga (4-6-0, 0-2-0) lost its 10th straight WCC match over the past three seasons. The Toreros (4-3-2; 1-0-1) defeated Gonzaga for the second straight year and ran their all-time home record against the Bulldogs to 6-1-0.

San Diego took the lead in the 14th minute when Ryan Guy took a pass from Kevin Meissner, dribbled around a defender and drilled the ball into the back of the net for his third goal of the year as USD took a 1-0 halftime lead.

Seven minutes into the second half, Gonzaga was called for a foul, giving USD a free kick inside the box. Guy and Meissner double tapped the ball to Calle Rendahl who fired the ball into the goal.

The Toreros made it a 3-0 game in the 85th minute as Jan Prochazka scored his first goal of the season on a pass from Michael Caso. Dustin Guerrero added a fourth USD goal with just 2 seconds remaining as he put in the rebound after Blaine Smith had a shot hit the crossbar.

San Diego outshot Gonzaga 26-12, including 20-7 in the second half. Gonzaga keeper Sean Sosnovec had a pair of saves. USD starting keeper Lance Friesz had just one save before giving way to Ian Coffman for the final 5:58 as the duo combined for the fourth USD shutout of the season. All six Gonzaga losses this season have been via shutout.

The match concluded six straight matches away from home for the Bulldogs, who return home Sunday for the first time since Sept. 11 to face Santa Clara University in the WCC home opener.
