Men's Golf 17th After First Day Of San Diego Invitational

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The Gonzaga University men's golf team sits in 17th position after the first day of competition at the 15th Annual University of San Diego Invitational. Gonzaga opened with a morning round of 328 to stand in 15th place but an afternoon round of 338 dropped the Bulldogs to 17th with a team score 666. Gonzaga trails Dartmouth College by five strokes in a battle for 16th place while Cal State Northridge and Southern Utah are tied for 14th at 647. Randy Potter sits in a tie for 56th to lead the Gonzaga golfers. He shot an opening round 79 followed by a second round 82. Matt Munroe (T74th) and Dave Hill (77th) were the only other Gonzaga golfers to post scores in the 70's. Hill opened with a 79 in the morning while Munroe finished the afternoon with a 79. The 17 team field will complete competition Tuesday morning at the Del Mar Country Club.
