SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University men's and women's crew will open the 2004 Spring season this weekend as they head to the University of British Columbia for a dual regatta on the Frasier River in Richmond, B.C. The Saturday morning regatta will consist of races in the varsity 8 and junior varsity 8 on the men's side while the women will compete in the varsity 8, junior varsity 8 and novice 8.

The men's varsity 8 will consist of coxswain Elaine Parry, stroke Mark Voorhees, Pat Haffey, Max Malotky, Nathan Wilson, Matthew Wernette, Derek Clemmensen, Connor Barry and bow David Hinshaw.

The women's varsity 8 will consist of coxswain Courtney Serpa, stroke Maria Bokulich, Carolyn Schepper, Kari Durgan, Jessica Kocarnik, Kristi Aamodt, Karen O'Hagan, Jenni Cooper and box Mariah Smith-Miloff

Following this weekend's dual with UBC, Gonzaga will send its men's and women's varsity boats to the second WCC Challenge in Redwood, Calif., on March 19-21. The home opening regatta for the Bulldogs will be Saturday, April 10, when Gonzaga hosts Western Washington University at Silver Lake.
