Women's Tennis Swept By Penn St., 7-0

Feb. 16, 2004

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's tennis team continued its tough early season schedule with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Penn St. on Friday, February 13. Sophomore Anastasia Skavronskaia (Miami, FL/Ransom Everglades) forced her match at number four singles to three sets, but that would be the closest the Colonials would come to winning a singles match. Skavronskaia and partner Sandra Simunic (Westerville, OH/ASE1) won their match at number two doubles, which turned out to be the only victory for GW on the day.

The Colonials will have two weeks to try and get back on track before facing Princeton on Friday, February 27 in Princeton, NJ.
