The senior finished her career with almost 200 blocks

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech senior Kasha Terry has been invited to participate in the 2006 WNBA Pre-Draft Camp, which will be held April 3rd at Emmanuel College in Boston, Mass. The camp is open to credentialed media but closed to the public.

The WNBA Pre-Draft Camp offers WNBA coaches and general managers an opportunity to evaluate the skills of approximately 40 top prospects from the current senior class. The players participate in on-court sessions scheduled for the morning, afternoon and evening.

"It was an unexpected surprise getting invited to the camp," said Terry, "but it is a great honor. I am looking forward to going to Boston and hope to further my basketball career with a great showing for the coaches and managers."

Terry has been referred to as one of the "Best Kept Secrets" in this year's draft, according to WNBA.com, and is described as a "raw athlete with huge upside." The 2006 WNBA Draft will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5th.

"I am so happy for Kasha to get this opportunity to attend the WNBA combine," said Georgia Tech head coach MaChelle Joseph. "It is not only a great compliment to what she has accomplished in her career at Tech, but also a tremendous honor for our program as well. KT will be a huge success at the next level, and I think that her ability to block shots and run the floor will set her apart."

A native of Douglasville, Ga., Terry concluded her senior season as one of the top shot-blockers in school and conference history, finishing with 195 in her four-year career on the Flats. The 6-3 forward started every game during her senior season and looks to become just the third Yellow Jacket to be taken in the WNBA draft.

Tech's all-time scoring leader Kisha Ford, a 2006 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Basketball Legend and a 1997 honorable mention All-American, became the first Yellow Jacket to be drafted when she was taken by the New York Liberty in 1997. Sonja Mallory, another top shot-blocker on the Flats, is the only other Yellow Jacket to be drafted by the WNBA, when she was taken by the Phoenix Mercury in 2003.
