GAME NOTES

Today marked UNLV's first NCAA Tournament win since 1991. UNLV defeated Seton Hall 77-65 at the West Regional Final in Seattle. The Rebels improve to 31-13 in NCAA Tournament games and is 12-2 in first round games.

UNLV's 29 wins (29-6) is the most wins since the 1990-91 team, which finished 34-1. Georgia Tech's 2006- 07 record finishes at 20-12/

Lon Krueger becomes just the second coach in UNLV history to win a NCAA Tournament game. His 29 wins is the most for Lon Krueger since his 1993-94 Florida team went to the Final Four and finished 29-8. Krueger is now 12-9 all-time in NCAA Tournament games and is 381-266 as a head coach. Kruger improved his record to 11-4 at the United Center in collegiate games.

UNLV led the entire game except for a 1:05 streak where Georgia Tech took a 58-57 lead on a pair of free throws by Georgia Tech's Anthony Morrow.

UNLV improves to 15-10 all-time against schools from the ACC and is 2-0 against Georgia Tech. The only other series meeting between the two team's came in the national semifinals on March 31, 1991, with UNLV winning 90-81.

UNLV's 44 rebounds ties a season best. UNLV registered 44 rebounds against Houston (12/30) and Air Force (2/20).

UNLV's 24 offensive rebounds is the most for the team this season. Gaston Essengue led the Rebels with four offensive rebounds.

UNLV's .317 (19-60) field goal percentage is the team's lowest this season. The team's previous low was a .356 (12-22) effort against Minnesota on December 22.

Georgia Tech's all-time NCAA Tournament record fell to 22-15 with its loss to UNLV. Its record in first-round games is now 10-5. Coach Paul Hewitt's NCAA Tournament record is now 6-5.

In all-time first-round NCAA Tournament action between the No. 7 seed and the No. 10 seed, the UNLV victory boosted No. 7's winning margin to 56-36 (not including the game later today between No. 7 Nevada and No. 10 Creighton.

Georgia Tech's bench out-scored UNLV's bench by a margin of 28-5. It also outscored the Rebels in the paint, 38-16.

Georgia Tech lost for the first time this season when holding its opponent to less than 70 points. It had won the previous 14 games when that had happened.

Georgia Tech's Anthony Morrow had three three-pointers vs. UNLV, raising his career total to 177. He passed Jon Barry and now stands in eighth place on that list. Georgia Tech scored fewer field goals today (19) than in any other game this season. The previous low was 21, registered on two different occasions.
