Track and Field Heads to Presitgious Penn Relays

FAIRFAX, Va. - The George Mason men's and women's track and field teams will head to Philadelphia, Pa. Thursday for the 111th annual Penn Relays. Competition at the "Carnival" begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.

Competing for the Patriots on the men's side in individual competition will be Quentin Matthews (High Jump), Wayne Wright (High Jump), Jonathan Martin (High Jump), Marc Kellman (Triple Jump), Ryan McCoy (Triple Jump), and Ricardo Melbourne (110m High Hurdles).

Kellman and Melbourne will join Sammy Sesay and Mike Garner in the 4x100m relay. In the sprint medley relay, the Patriot contingent will be Garner, Sesay, Melbourne and Ricardo Cunningham.

On the women's side of the meet, individual competitors will be Shannon Maurer (High Jump) and Sable Bell (High Jump).

Bell will join Ryann Holmes, Alicia York and Fiana York as a member of the 4x800m relay team. Mason's 4x100m relay squad will consist of Paula Bailey, Shamekia Louis, Kathy Williams and Misti Turner. Turner, Bailey, Louis and Fiana York will also run in the women's sprint medley relay.
