Enter to win one of three iPOD Nanos
Donate Blood at the CAA Blood Challenge on October 26th

Oct. 18, 2005

There's nothing scarier than a blood shortage. With the assistance of INOVA Blood Donor Services, a campus-wide blood drive sponsored by the George Mason University Athletic Department, will take place on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 as participation in the fourth annual CAA Blood Challenge. Stations will be set up in the Johnson Center-Dewberry Hall from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

A T-shirt and treats will be given to all donors and anyone that participates will be entered into a drawing to give away three iPOD Nanos. Make your life-saving appointment today by calling Nena Rogers, director of life skills, at 703 993-3594 or e-mail at nrogers1@gmu.edu.

The 2004 CAA Blood Challenge resulted in 2,929 attempted donors and 2,114 productive units of blood from the 10 CAA campuses, which was an amazing 50% increase over the 2003 totals and an 81.5% increase from the inaugural blood challenge in 2002.

The University of Delaware is the three-time defending champion of the CAA Blood Challenge. Last year, Delaware had 857 attempted donors and 588 units of blood collected. UD more than doubled its number of attempted donors and collected 277 more units of blood than its previous record of 311 set in the 2003 Challenge. Help George Mason in their quest to upend the defending champions and help save lives!

The CAA Blood Challenge was developed in 2002 by the league presidents as a fun way to emphasize the critical importance of donating blood. Each institution promotes the event on campus and encourages student groups, faculty, staff and alumni to participate and support their school.
