ATLANTA, Georgia - Furman women's tennis coach Debbie Southern is one of three featured speakers at today's meeting of the Georgia Professional Tennis Association at the Atlanta Country Club in Atlanta, Ga. Southern, an eight time Southern Conference Coach of the Year selection and the winningest coach in Furman women's tennis history, will address the topic "How do you bring women together to form a team?". Also featured at the August GPTA meeting is Georgia Tech coach Kenny Thorne and Billy Pate of the University of Alabama. In her 20 years at Furman, Southern's teams have won 12 league championships, 12 tournament titles, and made five NCAA Tournament appearances. In addition, the Lady Paladins have been undefeated in Southern Conference regular season play since 2000, and currently enjoy a 50-match regular season league win streak.
