ATHENS, Ga. -
Furman's Lady Paladin golf team is in 14th at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, after shooting a first-round 321 at the 6,228-yard, par 72 University of Georgia Golf Course on Friday.
Junior Connor Atkinson fired a three-over 75 to pace the Lady Paladins and is tied for 13th in the individual standings, while sophomore Theresa Paik carded an 80 and is tied for 55th. Jenny Suh is 70th after an opening round 82, while Sarah Sutrm is tied for 83rd following Friday's 84. Monique Gesualdi was the non-counter at 86.
The host Bulldogs of Georgia hold a two-stroke lead over LSU after a first-round 298, while Tulane and Wake Forest are tied for third at 301. The individual lead is shared between Wake Forest's Ashley Hoagland, Arkansas' Stacy Lewis, and Georgia's Lisa Tyler, all of whom shot 72 on Friday.
Round two of the three-round Liz Murphey is slated for Saturday at the UGA Golf Course.
