Walters is as strong a tennis player as he is a student. He is attending Furman on both an athletic and academic scholarship.

2007-08: This season, Jordan Walters contributed significantly to the Paladins' success. Playing primarily at no. 5 singles, Walters posted a 14-11 overall record, while going 8-1 in SoCon play. He also recorded an impressive 10-1 doubles record with partner Bo Ladyman, including seven straight league victories. Walters was named SoCon Student Athlete of the Week and Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of April 1.

2006-07: Walters saw significant action as a freshman, going 12-11 at No. 5 and 6 singles, and posting a 5-2 Southern Conference record. His 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Kenny Hodge of Kentucky clinched the 4-3 match win for the Paladins. Walters partnered with several Paladins to post a 4-5 doubles record.

Prep/Personal: Walters helped lead Lakeside to a trip to the state finals last year in 4A tennis. He lost only two singles matches during his four-year high school career. Walters ranked fourth in the South Region last year and as high as the top 80 in the nation. This past summer, he placed second at the Southern Closed Championships in Little Rock, Ark. He also represented the South in the Davis Cup on the Southern National Team where the squad finished in second place. Jordan in the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Walters and has an older sister, Ashley, who graduated from Furman last year. Walters was born on September 11, 1987 and intends to go pre-med and major in biology.
