Box Score

Greenville, SC - Eliot Paschalis scored two goals and Furman goalkeepers Bryan Amos and Derek Gleason combined for a shutout as Furman's offense registered its highest output of the season in a 5-0 victory over Wofford on Saturday evening.

The two goals marked Paschalis' second career multi-goal game as the sophomore from London, England recorded a hat trick last season against Liberty in the Wofford/adidas Invitational.

Tonight's game marked the first time this season that a Furman match was decided by one goal or less. All 13 previous matches finished as ties or were decided by one goal.

Furman opened the scoring at the 11:02 mark on Eliot Paschalis' second goal of the season. Paschalis won the ball after Wofford goalkeeper Joey Taylor misplayed a ball after coming off his line. Paschalis had a shot from 15 yards out that found the back of the net.

Furman extended its lead on Paschalis' second goal of the match. Brian Martin sent a cross into the box. Paschalis won the ball and beat the `keeper to the near post at the 18:11.

The Paladins scored at the 33:40 mark on an ambitious shot from Josh Villalobos. The senior received a pass from Rhett Abraham and took a shot from 40 yards out. The ball short-hopped Taylor and slipped through the hands of the Wofford netminder and into the back of the net.

Furman added another goal at the 47:07 mark on Brian Martin's team-leading fifth goal of the season. Dominic Cianciarulo's through ball found Martin behind the Wofford defense. Martin beat the Wofford goalkeeper with his first touch and sent the ball in the goal with his second.

Andrew Krysiak scored his first collegiate goal at the 71:04 mark. Sean Murry and Chris Davis played a give-and-go, then Murray centered a pass to Krysiak. The freshman drew Taylor off his line and slotted the `keeper to the far post.

With the win, Furman improves to 5-5-4 on the season, 3-2-0 in the Southern Conference. Wofford falls to 3-7-2 overall, 0-4-0 in conference action. The Paladins return to action on Wednesday as they travel to face Davidson at 7:00 p.m.
