Furman, Northeastern Post Scoreless Draw at Coastal Carolina/adidas Invitational

Conway, S.C. - The Furman men's soccer team posted its second straight draw to open the 2005 season as the Paladins and Northeastern Huskies fought to a scoreless tie on the final day of the Coastal Caroina/adidas Invitational in Conway, S.C., Saturday night.

Junior goalkeeper Bryan Amos recorded his first career shutout by totaling three saves in the physical deadlock. Northeastern held a 31-14 advantage in fouls and was whistled for five yellow cards and a red card in the 110 minute match. Furman received just one yellow card.

The Paladins held and 8-7 shot advantage and 5-4 edge in corner kicks.

Northeastern goalkeeper Sergio Saccoccio tallied five saves for the Huskies.

Furman, who tied Binghamton 1-1 on Thursday, moves to 0-0-2 on the season while Northeastern improves to 0-1-1.

The Paladins return to action on Tuesday when the travel to Boiling Springs, N.C., to take on Gardner-Webb at 7:00 p.m.
