Furman's Paladin golf team fired 303-304-309 to finish in 11th place with a 916 total at the General Jim Hackler Invitational, hosted Sunday and Monday at the 6,950-yard, par 72 TPC of Mrytle Beach. Senior Rob Langley tied for fifth in the individual standings with a five-over 219.
The Paladins fired a final-round 309 on Monday and were paced by Langley's 74, while Robert Jamieson added a 77 and Ryan Potter carded a 78. Ben Goforth was the final Furman counter with an 80, while T.J. Blandford shot 88 to fall into 60th overall.
The Gen. Jim Hackler Invitational was won by the host Chants of Coastal Carolina, while Notre Dame placed second and Purdue placed third. ETSU's Rhys Davies took medalist honors with a three-round 214.
The Paladins return to action on March 25-27, when they host the Furman Intercollegiate at the Furman University Golf Course.
