Tampa, Fla. -- The Furman men's golf team carded a second round 298 to surge to 12th after the second of three rounds at the Dick Wittcoff Invitational at the USF Golf Course is Tampa, Fla., Saturday.
Jonathan Bowden rebounded from an opening day 78 with a two under par 70 to climb into a tie for 18th entering Sunday's final round. T.J. Blandford shot a solid even par 72 to hold a share of 33rd place.
New Orleans (291-290=581) holds a one stroke lead over the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders after two rounds. The Privateers' Jason Kuperman holds the second round lead, along with Florida Southern's Greg Koch, after a 68 on Saturday.
Round three action is scheduled for Sunday.
