The Furman men's and women's cross country teams posted third places finishes at the Navy Invitational at the United States Naval Academy Saturday morning. American University claimed first in the men's race while Navy too first in the women's 6K event.
Junior Tyler Johnson paced the Paladins with a 13th place finish and teammate Eric Albrecht grabbed a top 20 finish coming home 17th. Pat Macadie of American led the way with a 24:8.29.
In the women's 6K, Kiera Carlstrom of American paced the field with a time of 21:45.11 to lead the Eagles to a second place showing. Whitney Sharp led the Lady Paladins finishing 18th with a 24:17. Tessa Cook finished 19th for the Lady Paladins.
Furman will travel to Charleston, S.C., next weekend to take part in The Citadel Invitational Saturday morning.
