CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Furman, who placed five runner in the top 10, was the women's champion at the 19th Annual WCU/Papaa Pizza Collegiate Invitational Saturday in Cullowhee, N.C. The Furman men placed second.

On the women's side, Furman's Molly Mungovan, Carly Smith, Whitney Kay Sharp, placed third (11:59), fifth (12:090) and sixth (12:09), respectively to lead the Lady Paladins. Rebekah Maderach and Sarah Maderbach, both of Georgia, took the top two spots with times of 11:55 and 11:56, recpectively.

Furman Eric Albrecht finished second in the men's 5K behind Western Carolina's Adam Puett.

Furman returns to action next Saturday at Navy.
